This bass produces a beautiful higher end and mid tone with a slim neck that supports quick and heavy play. The knob setup is a prototype set up that was never featured on any Alvarez electric bass, and the headstock is a one of a kind design with tuning knobs angled downwards. It was made in Korea by Cort in between the years 89-95. It's a prototype model of the Alvarez Villian bass model that was made from 95-00. Only 3 were made in Cherry, Ebony, and Sunburst finish, and after the Villian model sold better in a test sale in St.... (read more) Louis, where Alvarez is based, they stopped production. The only non factory parts on the bass are the strap knobs that I replaced because the originals were too small. Offset double cutaway Alder body Cherry Rose finish Bolt on maple neck 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with diagonal offset for inlays 3 active P-J pickups (EMG design) ~34 inch scale 1-9/16" nut width Black hardware. 1 fader knob to switch between pickups 2 Tone knobs controlling both pickups 1 Volume knob
